Denver Airport Conspiracy Theories: Fact vs Fiction

Denver International Airport (DIA) has become a magnet for conspiracy theories since it opened in 1995. Some claim that its underground tunnels hide secret government bunkers or that the unusual murals depict an impending apocalypse. Others point to alleged Masonic symbols and the horse statue “Blue Mustang” as evidence of occult connections.

In reality, the airport’s large underground tunnels are for luggage handling and passenger trains, not secret bunkers. The murals by artist Leo Tanguma are intended to promote peace and environmental stewardship. The Freemason cornerstone is part of a time capsule buried for the airport’s opening. While DIA embraces the playful rumors as marketing, there’s no credible evidence that the airport hides anything more sinister than flight delays.
